A. J. Barker

Lieutenant-Colonel Arthur James Barker served as a regular infantry officer in the British Army from 1936 to 1958. He saw service in many theatres of war in Europe, East Agrica, the Middle and Far East. Since leaving the Army he has written a number of books on military history, as well as numerous technical articles dealing with weapons, tactics and equipment, and in 1968 he was awarded a N.A.T.O. Felowship. Between 1954 and 1956 Colonel Barker was the infantry weapons instructor at the Royal Military College of Science.
