James David Lewis-Williams (born 1934) is a South African archaeologist.[1] He is best known for his research on southern African San (Bushmen) rock art.[2][3] He is the founder and previous director of the Rock Art Research Institute [3][4] and is currently professor emeritus of cognitive archaeology at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS). -Wikipedia
